Ah, good, you made it across. Not that I doubted your resolve. Still, times are grim, the way is difficult, and there are those who’d not have risked it.  Now, if you’d be so good as to give me your attention, there are some matters we need to discuss. 
     But who am I, you ask, that you should put stock in my lectures?
     A fair question.  And to answer directly, I am Mosk the Scribe, long in the employ of Pevoraille the Wise - and that, you will come to learn, is a more than adequate response to your question. And as for giving lectures, I assure you I’m not in the habit. 
     I could tell you about the lay of the land though, and about some of the people you’re likely to meet.  You’ll also find me well versed in legends and lore should you care to discuss the magical relics or mystical prophecies that have helped shape our land.
     The Sacred Covenant?  The Immutable Weave?  Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life? 
     I’ll be happy to speak on them all. I’ll even throw in a bit on our history if you think it will help you fetch your bearings.  Simply point me toward the topic of your choice in the menu below and I’ll tell you what I may.
     If you’d rather dispense with the chat and get right to the meat of it, however, which is to say, if you’ve already decided to draw your length of steel and shoulder up with those who would stem the flow of evil, might I suggest you crack open that tome down there to your left.  I’d tell you the tale myself, but I don’t think I have the heart for it, don’t have the heart to tell you what those wretches did to our devoted First Pillar of Light . . .
