The metaphysical tapestry composed of the threads of our lives is known as the Immutable Weave. As to its nature, I can tell you that the Weave has a sense of purpose to it, a resilience. Inadvertently press it the wrong way and the Weave will nudge you to aside and draw itself back to center. But thrash at the Weave maliciously, and you may well find your thread cut short, which is to say, one of the Norns may take up the shears and end your life. Then again, they may not, because the Norns have but one eye betwixt the three of them and much escapes their sight. As for the Weave, despite its robust nature, I’ve seen proof that it’s not truly immutable, that there are ways around it, even through it. As to what that implies about free will, destiny, and the inevitability of the cataclysm Ragnarok, your guess is as good as mine . . .
