Known only as the Sphinx, this creature was born to Leviathan and Behemoth in the Second Age of Dragon. As enigmatic a creature as you'll ever find, Sphinx proceeded to mate with the Elven Lord, Vanadia Moertholl, and their progeny included Greyl the Gray and the Norns, known sometimes as the Sisters Three. Sphinx also mated with Jormungandr, the Mmidgard Serpent - thus was the Daemon Lord Pzoeliar conceived.
As to whether Sphinx remains alive, I can't rightly say, nor can I tell you if his countless riddles were merely riddles, or if they'd be better classed as prophecy . . .
