Background:

Never heard of Vanadia, you say? What about as Freyr or Freyja> And I use the names of both brother and sister because Vanadia Moertholl encompasses the two. A hermaphroditic god (or goddess if you'd like; your tongue hasn't the nuances to encompass both genders in a satisfactory manner), Vanadia is given to a dual nature in many regards. She is the gentle Dove who brings peace and fertility, the goddess who heals the world, but so to is he the fierce Hawk who'll deftly protect his grounds when that invisible line is crossed. Vanadia Moertholl is the midnight pilot of the wandering moon, and the faithful guardian of the blazing sun, the faithful director of the heavenly bodies ever since Balder was slain . . .

Forgive me if I pause for a moment, it's just everything changed when Baldr was slain, when he was murdered. It was a crippling blow, if I may speak on it, and I'm not sure we'll ever recover . . .
